About the position

Sous Chef
Arctic Bath, located in the breathtaking nature of Harads in northern Sweden, offers our guests a combination of relaxation, adventure, and gastronomy. We are a unique floating hotel with 12 rooms, a spa, a restaurant, and a wide range of activities. We are part of Small Luxury Hotels and have been awarded one MICHELIN key.

Our dining experience blends tradition with innovation to create exclusive culinary experiences, and we are now looking for a Sous Chef who wants to be an integral part of our kitchen team and help maintain the high standards of our kitchen.

The role involves working closely with the Head Chef and Restaurant Manager, taking significant responsibility for the kitchen’s daily operations, and leading the team in the Head Chef’s absence.


Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Head Chef in planning, organizing, and managing the daily operations of the kitchen.
  • Taking responsibility for the kitchen during the Head Chef’s absence and leading the team during service.
  • Ensuring consistent quality of dishes in line with Arctic Bath’s high standards.
  • Promoting close collaboration and effective communication with service- and reception team.
  • Participating in menu planning and development together with the Head Chef and Restaurant Manager.
  • Ensuring kitchen hygiene, food safety, and operational procedures are followed.
  • Supporting and mentoring cooks and new kitchen staff.
  • Ensuring all products meet the company’s quality standards.
  • Representing the company professionally and contributing to high guest satisfaction.
  • Being flexible according to operational and guest needs.

 

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience working in professional fine dining kitchens.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role in a kitchen is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, presentation, and flavour development.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene principles.
  • Good command of English to work in an international team, Swedish is a plus.
  • Interest and experience in pastry is a strong advantage.
